Hochzillertal Ski Resort –
large, varied, with a link to Hochfügen
From Kaltenbach, the route leads up into the Hochzillertal, the largest ski area in the upper Zillertal. At the top, blue, red and black runs are spread across several slopes, along with ungroomed ski routes where freeriders are the first to leave their tracks in the fresh snow. The link to Hochfügen allows you to extend your day’s skiing without needing to use your car.
Stop for a bite to eat
In the Hochzillertal, the hut circuit is almost as well known as the slopes: the Kristallhütte, Wedelhütte and the Albergo are situated in such a way that stopping for a bite to eat can easily be fitted into your day’s plans. Our ski instructors know the routes between them and the times when it’s quieter.

In the Hochzillertal, we specialise in private lessons and freeriding. You can book your own ski instructor for 2.5, 3 or 5 hours – on your own, as a pair or as a small group of up to five people at the group rate. Off-piste, our freeride guides – fully equipped with emergency gear – will lead you from your first deep-snow slope right through to a full-day tour.
