FAQ
Meeting points for children
We meet up every day in Inneralpbach. Beginner children meet at our children’s area by the Galtenberg T-bar lift (opposite the Hotel Galtenberg in Inneralpbach). Advanced children meet in front of the Hotel Galtenberg at our fenced-off meeting point for advanced children. From there, the children travel on our slow train together with their group to the Pögelbahn.
Level: Is my child a beginner or an advanced learner?
We distinguish between beginners (first time on skis or unable to use the platter lift unaided) and advanced learners (able to use the platter lift unaided). Depending on the category, there are of course different ability levels, according to which the children are assigned to the appropriate group. Where possible, we also take age, nationality and family ties into account.
Lunch for Beginners and Children
The beginner children have their lunch break in our umbrella bar, which has been specially converted for this purpose. From 11.00 to 13.00, a generous, healthy snack buffet is laid out, where our children can refuel during their 30-minute break. The snack, as well as hot and cold drinks, are included in the ski course.
Lunch for children at an advanced level
The advanced groups are out and about throughout the Skijuwel. On 1 or 2 days a week, the instructor may stop off at a mountain hut for their lunch break. The children will need cash for this. To be on the safe side, please give your advanced children €10.00 for lunch at a mountain hut.
Ski passes
Children aged 6 and over require their own lift pass. This is NOT included in the ski course. Beginner children skiing in our ‘Kinderland’ do not yet need a lift pass; however, as soon as they start using the Alpbacher Bergbahn lifts, they will need a lift pass.
Picking up the children
The course ends at 2.00 pm every day. Please collect your children from the designated meeting point from 2.05 pm onwards.
Children’s ski race
Every Thursday at 10.30 am at the platter lift next to the Pögelbahn valley station for our advanced children. For the youngest children, the race takes place in our children’s area at 12.30 pm.
Awards ceremony
Every Thursday, after the ski lesson, we hold our victory ceremony, including the awards ceremony and prize-giving. We’ll meet at our Kinderland from 2.00 pm; the awards ceremony starts at 2.30 pm.
Photos from the ski race
Our photographer is present at every ski race and takes several photos of each child. After the prize-giving ceremony, these photos can be purchased at reception at the Hotel Galtenberg. (Prints or USB stick)
